Hello! I’m Despina Kozulcali, a passionate educator, author, and the CEO and Founder of Mundo Languages, an organization dedicated to making language learning accessible, engaging, and effective for learners of all ages. Originally from Caracas, Venezuela, and raised by Greek parents, I’ve spent the last 18 years in New York City, where I’ve had the opportunity to combine my love for languages and education.
Fluent in both Spanish and Greek, I firmly believe that communication is one of the most powerful tools for connecting people across cultures. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the Metropolitan University in Caracas, Venezuela, specializing in Preschool Education, and a Master of Science in Education from the University of New England in Biddeford, ME (2022). With over 13 years of experience teaching children and adults alike, I’m dedicated to making language learning a fun, accessible, and transformative experience for everyone.
My teaching philosophy is simple yet powerful: “I like to communicate in different languages anywhere in the world.” This belief drives everything I do, from running Mundo Languages to creating educational resources that help language learners and teachers achieve their goals.

As the CEO and Founder of Mundo Languages, I’m committed to providing high-quality language education that helps students of all backgrounds learn and appreciate the beauty of languages. Mundo Languages offers a range of services, including personalized language lessons, educational workshops, and innovative learning materials. My goal is to make learning Spanish, Greek, and other languages both fun and effective, empowering students to communicate confidently in any part of the world.

As founder of Mundo Languages, I offer personalized lessons, workshops, and educational resources to help students learn Spanish, Greek, and other languages with confidence. I am the creator and author of Diviértete en Español, which received the 2025 Award Winning Authors for Best Educational Chapter Book from Empowering Latino Futures’ International Latino Book Awards—the largest awards in the USA celebrating achievements in Latino literature. I am also a proud member of this organization. I developed a Guía para Profesores that received an Honorable Mention in the category of Best Academic Themed Book, College Level. Additionally, I am the author of a children’s story called Pirate Bury, which was created with the creativity of my son, Nicolas.

Outside of teaching, I’m a storyteller and the author of several books. I also enjoy exploring new cultures through travel with my family—Cenk Kozulcali and my son, Nicolas—which fuels my passion for education.
